“We will see our strength”
German youngster Elias Harris, who plays for Gonzaga at the NCAA,
believes that the participation against strong opposition at the Love
Cyprus Basketball Tournament for the National Team of Germany will help
them tremendously for the upcoming World Championships in Turkey.
- How far can Germany reach in the FIBA World Championships that will
take place in Turkey in September 2010?
I believe that we have the strength to make it to the next round of the
tournament, although Germany participates in a strong group. From that
point on, we will take it game by game and see how far Germany can make
it.
- Will the Love Cyprus Basketball Tournament help the Germany national
team in terms of preparation for the World Championship in Turkey?
Of course the Love Cyprus Basketball Tournament is going to help us a
lot to get ready for the upcoming World Championships. Playing against
those very good and strong teams who will participate in the Love Cyprus
Basketball Tournament, will be a huge and a very good test for us to see
what the strengths and readiness of our team is.
- Which player do you admire most in the game of basketball?
I admire a lot of basketball players, but especially those who play in
my position, small forward. For example NBA star, Shawn Marion.
- Playing in the NCAA, are you studying the chances of moving to the NBA
in the future?
Obviously, it’s my goal to make it to the NBA. But we will see what
happens in the future and how my career will develop.

* Germany competes in Group A of the FIBA World Championships that will
take place in Turkey between 28 of August and 12 September 2010. They
